This was a somewhat more challenging job with each step a different shape. All but the last three were made in one piece from paper patterns provided by our installer. The last three recover steps were mitered on the left and right to fit the angles of the original steps. Box newels were installed first, then the recover steps were put into place and then the handrail and black metal spindles. |

The maple newel posts were installed first. They were made with a cap on top, the four corners coved and an extra trim around the midpoint. Spindles were alternately plain square with one with a square decoration. The steps were a challenge to finish to duplicate the two process finish of the Mirage Sweet Memories "Toffee" stain. |
