According to Vladimir this was his very first attempt taking on this type of woodworking challenge. I think you'll agree that he's done a pretty awesome job, even wrapping veneer around the curved face of his starter step.
He was able to salvage the existing handrail system, by removing just the spindles and then replacing them once the new treads were in place.
