1/2" ROUND METAL BALUSTERS
Wrought Iron Spindles- 1/2" Plain Round, Textured Black
The round metal balusters are a hollow tube, 1/2" in diameter x 42" long.
These metal spindles are fabricated out of hollow tube that is easier to cut to length than solid bar and yet at the same time be of sufficient strength to pass all the Ontario Building Code strength regulations. (Documentation available for all clients that are getting a home inspection)
The round shoes, that you see in the picture to the right, are available but totally optional.
With a square spindle, you need to oversize the installation holes to put a square peg in a round hole.. thus a "shoe" becomes necessary to cover the oversized installation holes. With ROUND bars, an accurately sized round hole can be sized to fit tight to the spindle, making the shoes optional. This leaves a cleaner trim look for those that prefer that style.
These round spindles are typically used in combination with an alternating decorative spindle like the long thin cage metal baluster on the right.
