MISC. HARDWOOD STAIR TREADS

This is a small set of Brazilan Cherry Stair Treads that we made to match her exotic wood flooring. We even made a small amount of Brazilian Cherry Trim and floor register vents to finish off the job.

You have to expect significant colour variation when using Brazilian Cherry. It can run from a very conservative teak-like orange to a deep and dark red at one extreme and a paler straw coloured beige at the other end of the spectrum. We never really know what range of colours we're going to get until the wood arrives we start planing the wood.

Our client started with a carpeted set of stairs, stripped the carpet off leaving the handrail intact. He then removed the spindles and painted them white, sanded the handrail and newel post down and stained those plus the oak treads a dark walnut colour.
