WOOD MOULDINGS: Floor Mouldings

We make hardwood flooring, laminate, engineered & ceramic tile nosings, reducers and transition strips in the most common sizes and wood species (oak, maple, birch), but today there is a huge number of different thickness of flooring so it is almost impossible to find a transition strip for every combination of floors.

We will help you to find the best option, but often it is necessary to do some customization. Drop by with a simple drawing of your particular situation and a measurement of the difference in height between your floors and we'll try and help.

#1800   Hardwood Nosing

floor nosingSIZE: 1" x 3 1/4"
-sold by random length 3-12'

Application: This nosing is most often used on the front of steps either at the very top where it meets the main floor or on individual steps when you want to add ceramic top the back half of the step and wood on the front few inches.

#1801   Hardwood Nosing

floor nosingsSize: 1" x 4 1/4"
-sold by random length 3-12'

Application: This nosing is most often used under horizontal runs of handrail, say for instance around an opening surrounding a set of stairs. The nosing #1800, is not wide enough for this application to allow the spindles to drop to the floor and land in the middle of the nosing, thus you need this wider nosing #1801.

#1803   Laminate Floor Nosing

laminate nosingSize: 7/8" x 2 1/2"
- sold based on random footage from 3'-12'

Application: Used at the top of the step where it meets a "floating" laminate floor that is 3/8" in thickness INCLUDING the thickness of the foam underlay. If the floor is thicker it is possible to jack up the nosing with a thin piece of plywood or old paneling.

#1804   Ceramic Tile Nosing

ceramic tile nosingSize: 7/8" x 2 1/2"
- sold based on random footage from 3'-12'

Application: This nosing is designed to match up to ceramic tile that is 3/8" in thickness. A lot of natural stone is thicker than 3/8" so you must either pick a thicker nosing or use a piece of plywood to lift this up a bit higher.

#1818   Hardwood Floor to Tile Reducer

floor to ceramic transition stripSize: 3/4" x 1 5/8"
- sold based on random footage from 3'-12'

Application: matches a standard 3/4" hardwood flooring on one side and 3/8" thick ceramic tile or laminate on the other side. Must leave enough space between the two floors for this to be inserted between the floors.

#1819   Laminate Floor Reducer

laminate reducerSize: 5/8" x 1 3/4"

Application: overslung reducer for to hide a badly cut edge of ceramic tile or rim a floating floor.

#1820   3/4" Hardwood Floor Reducer

hardwood floor reducerSize: 3/4" x 2 3/8"

Application: meet up with a standard 3/4" thick hardwood floor on one side and reduce to nothing on the other side (as in meeting up to vinyl )

#1810   "T" (Transition or Joiner) Moulding

transistion stripSize: 5/8" x 1 3/4"

Application: Hide a seam line between two floors that are of the same height. Must have 7/8" of space between the two floors.

flat transistion floor moldingSize: 1/4" x 1 3/4"

Application: To cover the joint between two floors that are at the same level and have no space between them to allow the use of transition strip #1810.
